About Our Foundation
Saloma Foundation was born from love, loss, and a simple belief — that sport and human connection can quietly change lives.
The foundation is named in the loving memory of Saloma, whose life was defined by compassion, care for others, and quiet strength. After her passing, her family chose to honour her legacy not with words alone, but through action.
What began as small, informal efforts to bring children together to play and elders together to talk soon grew into a structured initiative. Today, Saloma Foundation works with children, youth, and senior citizens across Mumbai and Kerala, creating safe spaces for play, movement, dignity, and belonging.
At its heart, the foundation believes that no child should be denied the joy of play, and no elder should feel invisible. Through grassroots sports and simple wellness circles, we strive to build communities that care — gently, consistently, and with purpose.

Nijo Nicholas Alukaren grew up believing that sport is more than a game — it is a space where discipline, joy, and belonging come together. Having seen first-hand how children from under-resourced communities were denied access to structured play, he felt a quiet, persistent pull to do something meaningful. When Saloma passed, that pull became a calling. Nijo co-founded the Saloma Foundation in November 2025 to turn that grief into purpose — building grassroots programmes that give every child a chance to play, and every elder a reason to step out. He oversees community outreach and programme operations across Mumbai and Kerala.

Joseph John Pullokkaran carries the heart of the Saloma Foundation — a deep, unhurried commitment to dignity for every person, regardless of age. Rooted in Thrissur, Kerala, Joseph has spent years close to community life, watching elders grow invisible and children grow restless without purpose or play. It was his bond with Saloma and his shared resolve with Nijo that became the foundation’s first brick. Since co-founding the foundation in November 2025, Joseph has led the Saloma Silver Circles programme and built the foundation’s partnerships with parishes, schools, and housing societies across Mumbai and Kerala.
